Nothing cohesive today

Some random thoughts today:

My mystery allergy is mysteriously back. My lips are itching like crazy.

I hope and pray for the day when Prop 8 won't come up in Relief Society anymore, and I can once again be fairly sure my head won't explode at church.

I'm thinking of compiling a comprehensive list of Backyardigans episodes Sawyer likes, and having Eric verify how he says them so I can tell what he's asking for. It took me two whole days to figure out that "Squaw Picture" actually means "Swamp Creature" in Sawyer-speak. Some others:
"Spud-a-doo"="What Bugging You?"
"Mermaids"="Into the Deep"
"Tission"="Secret Mission"
"Catch a Penny"="To the Center of the Earth"
"Crazy Day" or "Wordle"="Race Around the World"

There's been a mini baby-boom among our friends. Katy and Aaron had their baby Reuben, Kevin and Mindy had baby Lindsay, and Jen and Dave had baby Chloe (no pictures yet!) Congratulations all around!

I'm excited to go to New York on Wednesday with my dad. Megan and Ryan are meeting us there and we're going to see "A Man For All Seasons," and to celebrate Megan's birthday. The only downside is that Eric can't come.

Some funny ChaCha questions I've answered lately:
Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?
Can you get pregnant from climbing a tree?
What were ALL the causes of the Industrial Revolution? (this one's funny because the answer can only be 130 characters long)
How do you say "You're my dirty little secret" in French?

About 90% of my questions lately are French translations, which is fun. The rest are about movies and religion. Yay for the specialist program!

I have to go shopping today - here's what's on my list:
vertical blind clips
silicone sealant
pepper spray

Sawyer woke me up from a nap yesterday by whispering "Sticky." I still have no idea what he was talking about.

  1. Maybe I should learn a second language so I too can be busy on ChaCha. The only thing I get consistently are questions about BYU and the Cincinnati Bengals. LOL

  2. Weird, prop 8 made its first appearance in our ward on Sunday. The Bishop was speaking - he just encouraged us to read the statements posted on the church websites and reminded everyone that everyone is free to hold their own political beliefs without fear of sanction. Other than that, not a word has been said (in church, although I've had plenty of informal discussions with friends in the ward).

    I figured it was a location thing, but maybe it's a demographic thing.

  3. At least its good to know that we're there for each other should our heads explode during RS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I must say I'm quite proud (and Curtis is quite relieved) by my extreme restraint these days...

  4. LOVE Backyardigans. My favorite episode, (yes, MY favorite) is Castaways. Have you seen it? I downoaded the soundtrack because it is so good! I also like the Flying Rock episode.

    I know, I'm so sick of Prop 8 in Sunday school too.

  6. Rebecca, It does help to know that I'm not the only one! :D

    Arianne, Saywer loves Castaways too! He calls it "Catch-aways." I think he really relates to Austin in the "I'm so shy" song. I do like Backyardigans a lot more than other shows on - it's a huge step up from Dora, that's for sure. I find myself singing the songs all day long.

  7. hey--what have i been missing in relief society??? you'll have to fill me in sometime...i'd love to hear it!!!

    and I LOVE the sticky wake up. those things drive me nuts until i figure them out, and make me laugh at the same time.

    you are awesome!

  8. I wonder what that allergy is! My sister can't use Chapstick, lipstick or anything like that because her lips swell up and bleed, also the same thing happens when she eats Melon. Weird!

Give it to me straight!
