I don't think I'm allergic to Red 40 after all. My itchiness has been gone for a few days so yesterday I decided to test it out. I ate a few different foods that all contained the dye and...nothing. No reaction at all. So now I have NO idea what I was reacting to before. I was actually hoping it was the Red 40 because that would be so easy to avoid in the future. Shoot. Allergist's office, here I come (as soon as I make an appointment.)
YAY! but at the same time, what the heck are you allergic to? I wonder what is in that licorice afterall..
ReplyDeleteI think you definitely need to get it looked at. You don't want to let an allergy that severe go.
ReplyDeletestinky stink.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so weird Chelsea! I hope you find out soon what it is cause that's got to be annoying!
ReplyDeleteHow weird. I hope you can't find out what it is. I once had terrible, terrible, hives and welts all over my arms and legs for days and never found out what it was. Thankfully it never happened again.
ReplyDeleteDyes CAN cause hives. Keep a diet diary. You may need to try the dye several times as it can be a dose-related thing.

Suck! I would for sure see an allergist. I had all kinds of allergies pop up once I started having kids.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
